Definition: (1) Noun: use of clean water to remove chemicals or debris from material during or at end of its processing e.g. removing fix from film prior to drying. (2) Noun: bath of clean water used to dilute or remove unwanted chemicals from a material during its processing. (3) Verb: to use clean water or other suitable solvent or dilutant to remove unwanted chemicals during or after processing. (4) Light colour applied to a substantial part or the whole of an image.
