tweak
Definition: (1) Verb: to make a small change or adjustment in order to improve quality, performance or efficiency, etc. usually in sense of producing a unexpectedly large effect * E.g. tweak of image contrast can greatly improve appearance of image; tweak of hardware settings can vastly speed up performance. (2) Noun: the small change or adjustment (also the process of introducing the same) which improves quality, performance or efficiency, etc., usually with (hoped for) disproportionately large effect. * Also known as tuning.
