tuning

Definition: Process of making adjustments to a process or set-up in order to produce or ensure production of results to meet a specification. When is a tune too far? Subtle changes to system settings on your computer, little adjustments to your equipment can make a big difference to performance, comfort and confidence. But too much fiddling about is a common cause of unreliable operation as the equipment has no chance to settle down: believe or not, mechanical and electronic things dislike change as much as the rest of us. Inverterate tuners and tweakers a piece of advice: unplug once in a while.
