tristimulus value

Definition: Set of of values of red, green and blue which, when combined additively, reproduce a specified colour. * In theory there is a tristimulus value for any perceived colour: RGB values are not equivalent because they are based on the colour space of a given device e.g. colour monitor. * Based on trichromatic theory of vision.
