Definition: (1) Making or recording an image by using the infrared radiation from an object. (2) Development of image using heat. * May be applied to printers which use heat e.g. dye sublimation. (3) Printing process for producing letters slightly raised from the surface -- e.g. business cards -- using inks which swell when heated.
