Definition: Optical design that ensures only essentially parallel rays of light reach the film or sensor i.e. the exit pupil is at infinity. * An aperture stop is placed at either focus, usually the rear focal point. * Can increase depth of field, reduce parallax. * Used in photogrammetry, microphotography and projecting reticle in e.g. rifle sights.
