step-and-repeat
Definition: (1) Noun: the software operation which effects a command, moves a set distance and does the command again e.g. graphics element is copied, pasted in position, then copied again and pasted in a new position. (2) Adjective: ~ camera: apparatus in which successive exposures can be lined up and equally spaced on a sheet of film or silicon wafer. * Different designs used in making microfiche copies of printed material, in the manufacturing of microcircuits, etc.
