split lens
Definition: Accessory mounted on normal lens: used to create image in which a close-up object is in sharp focus as well as the background. * Consists of half a close-up lens cut through the centre to make a half-moon shape and a clear space: the half-lens can be rotated to position it. * A special effect lens once popular but now made obsolete by image manipulation. * Also called split-dioptre lens.
