refresh rate

Definition: The rate at which one frame of a CRT or computer monitor screen succeeds the next. * Measured in Hertz (Hz) i.e. cycles per second. * It is equal to the frame rate on noninterlaced screens and equal to half the field rate on interlaced screens. The fresher the better Refresh rates are closely linked to viewing comfort: the faster the rate, the more stable the screen image is likely to appear. Faster refresh also help give the impression of a more responsive screen. Go for the fastest that your computer or graphics card can support: above 75Hz if you can. Unfortunately there's a heavy processing overhead -- but that's what you bought the graphics accelerator for.
