Definition: Procedure to ensure that the main object plane is parallel to the printing or projection plane e.g. to correct distortion caused by misalignment. * Used in enlargement to correct distortion e.g. by tilting baseboard and in photogrammetry and mapping to ensure accuracy of measurements. * Do not confuse with restitution in photogrammetry.
