Definition: (1) Representation showing effect of applying command e.g. to print: what the page will look like; to apply filter: what the filtered image will look like. (2) Pre-scan: representation of final scanned image prior to full scan. (3) stop-down preview or depth-of-field preview: camera control on single-lens reflex cameras which sets lens aperture ot working aperture to give user some idea of depth-of-field.
