presbyopia
Definition: Eye condition in which the accommodation of the lens is not sufficient to focus on nearby objects. * Normally considered to occur when the amount of accommodation is less than 4 D (dioptres). * Common in people in mid to late 40's in higher latitudes, but occurs in 30's in people living in the Tropics. * Correction is given by a positive lens, also called an addition.
