photogrammetry
Definition: Use of photography to obtain accurate measurements. * Basic trigonometry is used to deduce spatial information from measurements made on a photograph, given information on taking distances, focal length and known distortion characteristics of the lens used. * Fiducial marks on the image are characteristic of photogrammetric images. * Can also be applied to film e.g. cinetheodolite following a rocket's trajectory. * Also known as metric photography.
