Definition: Design of solid block of glass used to turn light rays around: it has five sides when viewed in section, with the main reflecting faces angled at 45< to each other. * Used in single-lens reflex cameras to flip image so that it is laterally correct i.e. left-right relationship is as normally seen; also in range-finders and measuring devices to define a right-angle.
