Definition: (1) Verb: to superimpose text or graphic elements on top of an image or other graphic elements. (2) Noun: transparent material carrying e.g. print-out or drawn image which is laid on top of printed or other material. * Used e.g. to check positioning and proportions of printed elements: largely superseded by digital methods.
