one-to-one

Definition: Life-size reproduction. * An image magnification of 1X i.e. the image is the same size as the object. A little revolution in relationships One of the little revolutions in photographic practice that digital technology has given us is right here: whereas life-size reproduction called for photographic skills of the highest order, it is now, in one department, now taken for granted. That is in making duplicates: we hardly ever make duplicate transparencies now, as we scan them: my professional slide duplicator (which cost a fortune years ago) is gathering dust while my film-scanner is getting worked into the ground.
