Definition: Instrument for capturing brief events at extremely high frame rates: consists of a multi-faceted rotating mirror at the centre of arc of lenses. As the mirror rotates it projects images into the lenses . * The images are recorded on a stationary piece of film. * Frame rates running several million frames per second are practicable.
