milky

Definition: Appearance of cloudiness or lack of clarity in a substance or material. * Usually a sign of a problem. * E.g. partially fixed film is milky in appearance; chemicals take on a milky look when they are exhausted or not fully mixed. If nature abhors a vacuum Then photography abhors the milky: clarity in all things photographic is the root of all goodness. Film should be clear, lenses and all chemical solutions. Even the monitor screen: there is little more clearly indicative of a sloppy worker than one who tolerates dust and muck on their screen which should gleam as sparkly as the day it left the factory.
