Definition: Noun: (1) Material or method used to print out, store or publish data, images, text, etc. * Plural: media. * E.g. storage media: various methods of keeping data, such as hard disks, CDs. (2) Mode or method of delivery, dissemination or publication of created content. * E.g. print medium: printing content on paper for publication; electronic medium: using electronic techniques for disseminating content. (3) In physics: matter that through which a wave can propagate. * E.g. glass in a medium through which electromagnetic waves or radiation such as light can propogate. (4) Adjective: In photography: a value more or less half-way between two given extremes. E.g. medium film speed: between slowest and fastest films. * In general usage, more likely to indicate a median value than an average value.
