linear array

Definition: Photo-detector consisting of a single row of light-sensitive devices, used in e.g. flat-bed scanners, scanning back cameras. * May be configured as three lines, each under a filter of the separation colours red, green and blue: in this case may be called trilinear array. * Also called a line array.
