Definition: Manipulation of a digital image to improve the visibility or clarity of information in an image. * E.g. image blur may be reduced to show a moving object more clearly; unsharp masking may be applied to increase apparent detail. * Increasingly used to mean improving tone, contrast, and colour of image, without substantial change to content or meaning of the image.
