gyroscopic camera mount

Definition: Mechanism using battery-powered gyroscope and a suspension mount to isolate a camera from high frequency vibrations. * The mechanism itself may be mounted on the operator for further absorption of vibrations. * Large, cumbersome and very expensive: they are being superseded by image stablisation technology in video and still cameras but are still needed in cinematography.
