Definition: File transfer protocol: used for rapid transfer of files between computers connected e.g. via the Internet. * Anonymous ftp allows users to log on with the name anonymous or ftp, but it is polite to give your e-mail as the password. * Defined in RFC (Request For Comments) 959.
