Definition: Location for collecting or organising files related by function, project or other use e.g. applications are all kept in the Applications folder, all operating system files are in the System folder, files for an exhibition are in the Big Project folder. * Folders may be kept within folders. * Effectively a sub-directory on a hard-disk, used mainly in MacOS (called directory in Windows).
