electron-beam film scanning

Definition: Method of creating image using electron-beam methods or a derivative. * E.g. (1) using electrons from cathode ray tube as the illuminating source or (2) original e.g. film is copied onto material that, after processing, emits light when scanned by an electron beam. * May be used where a positive-working system is essential or for direct copying of television image.
