dynamic stare sensor
Definition: Design of mosaic or wide array light-detector that combines features of scanning and one-shot (or staring) sensors by using a scanning motion. * Used by some cameras to (a) cover a large area using a CCD array than is smaller than the area or (b) to improve resolution by shifting the array by distances smaller than the interval between individual CCD cells or (c) to improve colour resolution by shifting the array under a stationary filter screen.
