direct screen focusing

Definition: Method of bringing image into focus by placing the focusing screen at the focal plane. * Once focused, the focusing screen is replaced by the film, at the focal plane.* E.g. is ground-glass focusing of monorail cameras; also seen in copy cameras where the film back and focusing screen are on a common slider so one easily takes the place another.
