diffuse density

Definition: Measure of density in which either incident illumination is diffuse and measurement is of directly transmitted light or the incident illumination is direct and the measurement is of all or nearly all of the transmitted light. * This represents behaviour of film during projection, and is a widely used mode of measurement in pre-press, monitoring colour processing lines etc.
