Definition: The lens of the human eye. * A transparent, bi-convex body made of lens fibres, suspended between muscles which can change the shape - i.e. radius - of the lens; it is situated behind the iris and the vitreous body of the interior of the eye. * It has a high refractive index and a power of about 20 diopters.
