complementary wavelength

Definition: The wavelength of light which, when mixed with the sample colour, produces a grey (achromatic colour). * On a chromaticity diagram, it is that wavelength on the spectrum which lies on the projection of the line joining the achromatic point and the point for that colour -- usually a non-spectral or secondary hue.
