Definition: Physical, physiological and psychological processes by which colour is perceived. * In humans, available only to photopic (daylight) vision where ambient light levels are high. * Essential sensors in retina of eye: three types of cones with peak sensitivities to reddish, greenish and bluish light. * Human eye is able to distinguish about a million different hues.
