colour temperature meter
Definition: Instrument for making indirect measurement of colour temperature of light by measuring relative proportions of red and green or blue. * Based on principle that proportions of two primaries is closely related to colour temperature. * Instrument consists of light-sensitive cells covered by filters: output of cells are compared and read out as Kelvin. * Read-out may be calibrated as density of colour-correcting filter needed to balance light-source to preset type of film.
