colour synthesis
Definition: Recreating original colour sensation by combining two or more other colours. * Two classes of methods: (1) additive colour synthesis i.e. final image is formed by combining primary colours e.g. red, blue and green as in colour monitor screens; (2) subtractive colour synthesis i.e. final image is formed by combining secondary colours e.g. cyan, magenta and yellow as in colour transparency film.
