colour model

Definition: Systematic scheme or theory for representing the visual experience of colour by defining any given perception in terms of three or more basic measures. * All colour models acknowledge perceptual distinctions of hue and brightness, but take different account of saturation. * Different models have their own distinct advantages according to the use made of them: LAB is versatile for computation but is not as intuitive as HSB. * NB: Should not be confused with colour space which defines range of colours that can be reproduced
