Definition: Design of lighting with very low infrared - or heat-producing - component. * The infra-red may (a) be removed by absorbing filters e.g. heat filters in projectors (b) reduced by use of cold or dichroic filters e.g. dichroic bulbs (c) eliminated at source e.g. using cold-cathode.
