Definition: (1) Stream of energy capable of carrying information through alteration of one of its characteristics. * Modulation of an analogue signal of its frequency, amplitude or phase can enable the signal to carry information. (2) E-mail or other data that contains a virus within it or attached to it. * The attachment may have to be opened or uncompressed for the virus to be activated.
