camera exposure
Definition: Quantity of light reaching light-sensitive material or sensors in camera. * It is determined by the effective aperture of lens and duration of exposure to light i.e. the effective shutter time. * The effective aperture of lens depends on (a) f/number actually set during exposure (b) presence of filters (c) transmission of lens and lens extension (d) presence of flare. * The effective shutter time depends on (a) shutter time set (b) shutter efficiency (c) whether flash is used and if so, how much light is emitted (d) and whether multiple exposures are being made. * Note the actual exposure reaching film depends on the subject brightness or luminance.
