afocal

Definition: Having no focal length. * ~ optical system: one whose object and image points lie at infinity. * E.g. lens attachments for increasing or decreasing apparent focal length of fixed lens cameras: their afocality allows the original lens to retain its normal focusing range. * The magnification of the image is the ratio between the diameters of the entering and exiting pupils.
