additive colour printing

Definition: Method of making colour prints from colour negatives or transparencies by making three successive exposures of varying duration in register through blue, green and red filters of fixed density. Any colour print material used for subtractive colour printing may be used for additive colour printing; differences in results are indistinguishable but additive method makes it possible to create colour prints using only a black & white enlarger.
