access time
Definition: Time interval between the time a request is issued for an item of information or data and the moment it is found. * The call for data may be to computer memory or to a storage device such as hard-disk, CD-ROM etc. * Random Access Memory offers the shortest access time while those for storage devices are relatively much longer. * NB: You still have to add the time to get the information off and transferred to where it's needed.
