absolute magnification

Definition: Measure of enlargement seen when an object is positioned at the focal point of the magnifier lens. * For calculation, taken as equal to the distance of distinct vision (250 mm) divided by the equivalent focal length of the lens: e.g. where focal length of lens is 100mm, absolute magnification is 250/100 = 2.5X.
