Waterhouse stop

Definition: Disc drilled near its circumference with a circular hole used to change the effective aperture of an optical system. * May be made as a disc with several, different sized ,holes drilled around its circumference. * Used e.g. in optical experiments and photo-mechanical cameras where the aperture must be perfectly circular and of high precision.
