Definition: Universal Serial Bus: standard for connecting peripheral devices e.g. digital camera, telecommunications equipment, printer etc. to computer. * Carries data at up to 1.5 Mbits per second. * As it carries power as well as data, up to 127 items can be added together in a branching topology and share, in theory, the same computer port. * USB allows for hot-plugging i.e. connection and disconnection while turned on.
