Definition: Reduced Instruction Set Computer (or Computing): design of microprocessor which executes a small set of simple instructions very rapidly. * All modern Apple Mac computers use RISC processors in the form of the PowerPC line of chips; the Sun SPARC work-stations are also RISC-based.
