Definition: (1) Resource Interchange File Format: file format for multimedia use across platforms. * Introduced in 1990 by Microsoft and IBM: stores different data in 'chunks' which are tagged as to type. * An extensible specification which can take in new elements. (2) Raster Image File Format: file format similar to TIFF that is proprietary to Letraset and native to Letraset Colour Studio.
