Definition: Personal Computer Memory Card International Association: a standard for removable memory and hard-disk cards used in lap-top computers and larger digital cameras. * Often abbreviated to PC cards. * All are 68-pin and measure overall 85.6mm x 54mm. * Type I cards are 3.3mm thick and used for memory; Type II are 5mm thick and used for modems, interconnect adaptors e.g. for network; Type III are 10.5mm thick and Type IV are 5.5mm thick -- both used mainly for hard-disk drives. * A Type II will accept a Type I device.
