Newtonian telescope

Definition: Simple type of catadiotric telescope. * Consists of a concave paraboloidal objective mirror with a small flat secondary mirror on the main axis which reflects rays from the primary mirror laterally sideways. The image is viewed with an eyepiece pointing at the secondary mirror i.e. looking at right-angles to the main axis.
