Definition: Standard colour reference target used for calibration in the printing industry. * IT 8.7/1 and IT 8.7/2 are essentially RGB targets which facilitate checks on input devices by providing tonal varieties from highlight to shadows, a range of pure colours including additive and subtractive primaries, plus 'natural' colours: 7/1 is for transmission, 7/2 is for reflective originals. * IT 8.7/3 is a CMYK target which facilitates checks on output devices by providing spectra with differing amounts of black plus neutrals and solid colours.
