GCR

Definition: Grey Component Removal: technique for reducing equal amounts of cyan, magenta and yellow ink where they occur together to create grey by replacing all the trichromatic grey with an equivalent quantity of black ink. * This not only reduces use of more expensive coloured inks but reduces colour variations during printing. * A more severe form of under colour removal.
