Fechner's Law
Definition: An arithmetic increase in visual sensation requires a logarithmic increase in visual stimulation. * E.g. a series of densities doubling in density (logarithmic increase in stimulation) is seen evenly increasing steps of density (arithmetic increase). * Also known as Weber-Fechner Law (as it is a specific application of Weber's Law).
